Tilak Junior College of Science and Commerce was started in 2006 with one division each of Std XI Science & Commerce. At present, the Junior college has two streams in XI & XII (Science & Commerce) and each stream has four divisions. The college gives optional subjects like Hindi/ Information Technology for both the streams & for Commerce, students can opt between Maths & Secretarial Practice (SP). Under the Science stream more seats are made available for Computer Science (Bifocal). The college is functioning on self-financing basis as per the Maharashtra State Board curriculum.
The college is known for consistently achieving excellent results at the Higher Secondary Board exams. Students are encouraged to participate in all curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities organized by the college and are motivated to participate in inter-collegiate competitions. Our students have carved a name for themselves at the DSO level games and matches by their participation as well as performance. The environment created for the students is one of empathy, discipline and a strong sense of belief in themselves. Our students go on to excel in various walks of life once they leave the institution.
The junior college is located in a seven storeyed well-designed structure, overlooking a huge playground one side and a garden on the other side. All the infrastructural facilities required for the functioning of the junior college is provided on the campus.
